Angela Spurgeon

Interpreter Mentor

Angela Spurgeon (MS, RID: CI, NIC) started interpreting for Sorenson in 2005 joining IEPD in 2018. Angie enjoys most of her time mentoring new interpreters entering the field. She also teaches online webinars and group mentoring sessions to current VI’s. When she’s not teaching she spends her time on the SAIL assessment team looking for patterns VI’s can leverage to improve their work. Angie has been nationally certified since 2006 with experience in a wide range of settings from performance to legal, post-secondary being her favorite. Angie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Utah and her MS in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Northeastern University. She has found her love in guiding new interpreters on the path to loving the interpreting and Deaf communities as much as she does.
