Coordinator, SPIES for Parents and Strategies for Preschool Intervention in Everyday Settings (SPIES)

Heather Mariger is the Project Coordinator for Project GOALS (Gaining Online Accessible Learning through Self-Study) and Project Specialist for the StartSmark K-3 Plus program. Since joining the CPD, she has worked on several projects including SPIES (Strategies for Preschool Intervention in Everyday Settings) and NCDAE (The National Center on Disability and Access to Education) as well as serving as editor or assistant editor for several CPD related newsletters, creating an archival record of CPD history and news, and assisting with the planning of the CPD's 35th anniversary celebrations.

Heather comes to the Center for Persons with Disabilities through an unusual route. Classically trained in Culinary Arts and Hospitality she has worked and studied across both the US and Europe. While working on her Masters Degree at Kansas State University, she became intrigued by the possibilities that the Internet promised for higher education. Her new interests led her to Utah State where she completed her Doctorate in Instructional Technology. Her interests include Usability, Accessibility, and Inclusive Tourism/Hospitality.
