Project Details

The demand for information, referral, supports, and services for parents whose family members are beyond school age is steadily increasing. The capacity of organizations and agencies must increase to respond to these needs across all disability areas.

Training population: parents of high school age students, young adults, and adults with disabilities,individuals with disabilities, educators, paraprofessionals, and professionals from disability organizations and state agencies providing adult services.

Experienced parent trainers and cross agency collaborators as consultants and/or presenters prepare and disseminate information on several topic areas related to transition and to adult life. Eight full day training sessions in urban and rural workshops and 3 Webinars address person centered planning and adult services. Some individualized training is also be provided.
