Project Context:
To assist employers, people with disabilities, and other entities with responsibilities under the ADA in understanding and complying with the ADA, the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) has funded ten Regional Disability and Business Technical Assistance Centers (DBTACs). These regional centers provide technical assistance, training, and resource referral on all aspects of the ADA.

Project Focus:
The Southwest Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center (DBTAC) is the southwest ADA technical assistance resource for Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

The Southwest DBTAC acts as a 'one-stop' central, comprehensive resource on ADA issues in employment, public services, public accommodations, and communications. This center works closely with local business, disability, governmental, rehabilitation, and other professional networks to provide ADA information and assistance, placing special emphasis on meeting the needs of small businesses.

The Southwest DBTAC has sub-contracted with the Center for Persons with Disabilities at USU to conduct program evaluation activities for the region.
