Family Advocate, Coordinated Family Support: A Medical Home for Children with Special Health Care Needs (CFS)
Laura Karren Oppermann grew up in Logan. She graduated from Utah State University in 1993. She served a mission for the LDS Church from 1989-1991 in Munich, Germany and Bulgaria. She lived and worked in Germany from graduation until 1998, when she returned to Logan. In 2003 she began using her experience with people with disabilities to support the fledgling Medical Home at the Budge Clinic as their family advocate. She has been involved with many local and state advocacy and support organizations in order to better understand and help local families care for family members with disabilities. She is happy to now be affiliated with the CPD to further that activity and make a medical home available to all children in Cache Valley.
