BLT Provides Training & Mentoring for Youth Adults with Disabilities

The Becoming Leaders for Tomorrow (BLT) Project is designed to provide materials and opportunities to help youth and young adults with disabilities as they transition into adulthood. In collaboration with the Utah Parent Center (UPC), a small group of participants are being trained in leadership, advocacy, and transition issues. After completing the training, these youth will become trainers and mentors for other youth and young adults. This core group will become part of an advisory committee for the BLT project.

A website at http://blt.cpd.usu.ed/ has been developed with resources and information for recruiting youth and other young adults who would be interested in taking the training. Brochures have been developed and disseminated across Utah, inviting others to participate in this mentoring project.
