TBI services will improve for young children and veterans

The Utah TBI Implementation Partnership Grant, a project of the CPD,  is building on the work done by previous Utah TBI grants in improving the resources and support system for individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury and their families.

This grant will focus on improving the statewide TBI services for two distinct populations in Utah, young children, ages birth to 4 years old, and service members and veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom who have suffered traumatic brain injuries.  Project staff will conduct thorough statewide assessments on the services currently available to these two groups and develop resource materials that will improve identification and appropriate interventions.

Sue Dubois from the CPD, recently appointed as the State TBI Coordinator, will coordinate the efforts of the Implementation grant and its collaborative partners the Utah Department of Health, Utah Brain Injury Council, and the Coordinating Council for People with Disabilities.
