PEER Provides Inclusive Opportunitites for Students

Project PEER (Postsecondary Education, Employment, and Research) is a program that allows students enrolled in Special Education between the ages of 18 and 21 to interact with other students their own age on a university campus. The program, which is housed at the CPD, operates in collaboration with USU, local school districts, and local businesses. PEER gives students the opportunity to gain real-world work experience, in addition to social interaction through participation in university clubs and activities. Moreover, the program benefits from the guidance of professionals and graduate students from the USU Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation. The PEER program is a unique aspect of Cache County and Logan City's Special Education services that puts education for older students in the appropriate context.
