Summer program a hit at DSL

The Developmental Skills Laboratory just completed their Summer Program for school age children and youth with disabilities.

The ten participants had a busy time this summer, taking advantage of all of the great community activities going on.  Some of those included going to the Summer Fest event in downtown Logan, swimming at the Logan Aquatic Center, participating in a horse therapy activity, and attending the Cache County Fair in August.  The group also made the rounds to many of the fun city parks in Cache Valley, playing on the playground equipment and eating picnic lunches.

Once a week, the Summer Program kids would join with the Common Ground group, an organization that provides outdoor recreational opportunities for youth and adults with disabilities.  The DSL participants had a great times canoeing and bike riding with them.

One of the highlights of the summer was a day trip to Crystal Hot Springs, a fun activity for a hot, summer day. And, of course, the last day of Summer Program was the  annual Talent  Show for family and freinds to come help  celebrate the ending of a fun-filled summer.
