Michael is the director over the Child Care Nutrition Programs (CCNP) at Utah State University, which is housed in the CPD. He is in charge of bringing on family day care home providers in Utah who are interested in providing day care in their homes and providing nutritious meals to children in care under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). He made it possible for child care centers to participate on the Child Care Nutrition Program under Utah State University back in October of 2016. Providers and child care centers receive federal reimbursement for qualifying nutritious meals that they serve to children while in care. He is in charge of monitoring each site at least 3 times per year and providing home day care providers and centers with the tools that they need to ensure children are receiving reimbursable meals while in care. He also enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
