Davis Wood has worked in the Center for Persons with Disabilities, Biomedical Laboratory since May 2009. His current lab project is developing an assay for detecting mutations in the gene GJB2 (Connexin 26) involved in newborn hearing loss. He is majoring in Biological Engineering and expected to graduate from Utah State University in spring 2012. His other lab experience is at the Utah Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, Molecular Diagnostics and Research, 2008-09. Davis plans to pursue an MD after graduation. His other interests are soccer, rock climbing, diving, and cooking.
