Janel is a native of Utah. She moved to Logan in 1991 to attend Utah Sate University. She graduated from USU with a BS degree in Special Education. She taught in the public schools for 7 years. During that time she participated in the statewide autism training,and worked as a Mandt trainer for the Utah Weber school district.
Currently, Janel is the lead teacher for the ABC classroom in the Up to Three Early Intervention program. This class is for families who have a child with a Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis or are in the proccess of getting one. The ABC class follows the DIR/Floortime approach. Janel has completed the coursework for the Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters (PLAY) and is a certified PLAY home consultant.
Janel enjoys the warm summer days in Logan, the closeness of Bear Lake to go boating and spending time with her husband and 2 kids.
