Assistive Technology Lab

Assistive Technology Lab volunteer
Work with AT lab staff to learn about ergonomics, environmental controls, augmentative and alternative communication, seating and positioning, mobility issues, design and fabrication, etc. Assist with the fabrication of low cost, low-tech devices based on consumer needs that are presented to AT Lab staff.
Familiarity with the safe operation of hand and power tools helpful, but not required(safety training will be provided); desire to learn new skills and brainstorm creative solutions to everyday challenges encountered by people with disabilities when interacting with a variety of environments.
Flexible- to be determined by AT lab staff and volunteer
