Clinical Services Building

In 2016, the CPD will begin transitioning to the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services new Clinical Services Center. This center will combine all the clinical services across the college, including those at the CPD, into a single comprehensive center dedicated to all aspects of human wellness across the entire lifespan. Supporting this initiative will help ensure that this facility is state of the art and prepared to meet the needs of the thousands of families these clinics serve each year as never before.

Community Investment Fund

The Consumer Advisory Council of the Center for Persons with Disabilities is seeking donations for their Community Investment Fund. This fund provides cash awards given twice a year to organizations in Utah that serve the needs of people with disabilities. At their twice yearly meetings, members of the Consumer Advisory Council nominate organizations that are making a difference in their community. The council then selects the winning organization, with members advocating on behalf of the organization they nominated. This program empowers people with disabilities, their families and caregivers to support the very organizations that have had the greatest impact on their lives.

Each year, CReATE refurbishes and distributes over 75 mobility devices to Utahans with disabilities at a fraction of what these devises would otherwise cost them. The mobility they provide is vital for people who would not be able live independently and productively without them. Unfortunately for many people the financial difficulties of having a disability make acquiring one of these devices almost impossible. Thanks to CReATE devices that retail for between $5,000 and $25,000 are being distributed to Utahans who need them for $500 or less with financial assistance available that can make the costs even lower.

Family Assistance Fund

At the CPD we recognize one of the greatest challenges people with disabilities and their families face is being able to afford the services they need. The Family Assistance Fund provides families facing the economic stress of a disability with assistance covering co-pays and other small costs associated with the services they receive at the CPD.
