Social Security Work Incentives Workshop

Because of recent program cutbacks, it is important for parents, support staff, and direct SSA beneficiaries to understand how to best utilize Social Security Work Incentives.  The Supported Employment project, a project funded through the CPD, is holding a two-day workshop that will inform participants about this program.

The workshops will be held on October 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and on October 27th from 12:30-3:00 p.m. at the Utah State Office of Education, South Board Room, 250 East 500 South, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

These workshops will be presented by Esther Medina from the Social Security Administration. The following topics will be covered:

  • Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
  • Trial Work Period
  • Extended Period of Eligibility
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Plan to Achieve Self Support
  • Impairment Related Work Expense
  • Studeent Earned Income Exclusion
  • Continued Medicaid Eligibility
