Disability Film Series: Body and Soul
The Disability Law Center and its co-sponsors are presenting a film and lecture series called LOUD & CLEAR: Voices from the Disability Community. This series presents fresh and unique stories about people living with disabilities.
The next screening in the film series will be held on November 19, 2009 with a film called BODY AND SOUL: Diana and Kathy, directed by Alice Elliot. Body and Soul is a look at an unusual, symbiotic relationship between two people with severe disabilities. One has Down Syndrome and one has cerebral palsy leaving her non-verbal. Their relationship, forged by living together for 37 yeers, is a model in living independently and making a difference in each other's lives.
The film screening will begin at 7:00 p.m. Each film will be followed by a post-screening discussion. These screenings are free.
All screenings will be held at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts - Dumke Auditorium at 410 Campus Center Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. Free, accessible parking is located near the Auditorium. All films will be captioned, have audio commentary and sign language interpreters will be available for the discussions.
