Heidi and her pudding painting.
August was filled with many fun activities. We decided to have our own Olympics because of the real-live Olympics that were going on all over the World. I participated in the Olympics upstairs and outdoors.
One day we did pudding painting and we enjoyed it. I ate my pudding after I did the activity and it was delicious! My mouth was sticky afterwards.
We were able to watch several movies this month, including: Beethoven, Scooby Doo, Journey 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Cinderella 3, Flicka, and Willy Wonka. I love being able to see new movies.
One day for food fun, we made Mexican corn on the cob. It was made with mayo, cheese and a few other ingredients. It was something new, and it was pretty good!
All ready to start finger painting with pudding!
Another day this month my school buds and I went bowling. I even got two strikes! I was so excited. We also went on a field trip to Cox Honey Land this month. On our trip there we were able to watch an educational film about how honey is made. We were even able to eat some honey!
Along with all of the new adventures we experienced, we continued to participate in music therapy and story time once a week.
August has been such a fun month filled with new experiences, and I can’t wait for next month!

In the month of May, we did many fun activities!
Willow Park Zoo peacock
All of us went to Willow Park Zoo. As we walked ’round and looked at animals, Heidi’s two eyes looked sharp-right, then upward. Just ahead of Heidi was a peacock with the longest tail Heidi had ever seen! Heidi and friends saw other animals, besides that one.
All of us made heart-shaped wreaths for Mother’s Day. We all told our mothers how much they’re loved and cared for. We also had a program for our special mothers and made yummy treats for them. We baked one whole day! We made treats for them to munch on, and really enjoy.
We went to see this flick about the pirates’ band, and watched this neat flick. We all munched on one bucket of buttery, yummy popcorn!
We also went by bus and van, down to Logan Lanes to bowl. Then, we went by bus and van to the library to check out and return books.
We had lots of fun in May! I can’t wait to tell you about our trip to Hill Airforce Base on June 1st! We literally ate our lunch under an airplane!! No kiddin’! More on that next month!

In April, Heidi and her buds here at the DSL worksite did a lot of fun things!
We went to the movie theater and saw this neat movie about African chimps. The movie was about a chimp who lost his mother and a male chimp adopted him and took care of him. We chomped on yummy popcorn with yummy butter on it. We had a great time!
When the weather got a bit warmer, we all went outside and made bird feeders. This was a really fun and messy activity. We took gooey peanut butter and spread it on selected pine cones and put bird seed on it. We can see some of the birds come and eat the seeds every now and then.
We also had volunteers come from the state of Michigan. They were really nice gals and they helped us dye Easter eggs. We munched rice crispie treats with them.
We also had a yummy lunch for Easter and had spaghetti, salad, and delicious garlic bread! After we were all full, we had a great Easter egg hunt!
That just about sums up April here at the DSL worksite!

March was a great month here at the DSL worksite! We had lots of activities!
We went kite flying at one field on campus.
We also went by bus to the theater to have yummy, buttery popcorn while we all listened to and watched the movie “The Lorax.” After that, we thanked those guys for inviting my bus buds to come down and see this flick.
My buds and I traveled by bus to an ice cream shop to have one lick of ice cream.
We went to the Logan Herald Journal and saw how their paper gets printed and put together. When we got there, we got to see how these giant presses run. After all of us had gone ahead, we thanked those guys for letting us come to the building. Then we got loaded on the bus and van to run back here to DSL.
We grabbed what we needed, loaded up and buckled in, on our way home. We are always very diligent about buckling up tight and low, preferably before we go!
We are excited to do things in April, and are excited that the weather is warming up!

Here are the fun things that happened in February 2012:
In February, we made Valentine boxes and then everybody filled them with cards to read, plus we had good and yummy things to enjoy chomping and munching on. Then we said, “Happy Valentine’s Day,” and we told everyone how much they’re loved by their Buds ’round here when we see them here each day.
We enjoy doing things together. We also enjoy singing songs, and talking kindly and asking them” How they are doing?” and “What are they doing?” in their life. They ask me those same things, and I let my Buds know things are great in my life, also!
We went to the movie “Big Miracle,” about three whales that got stuck in the ice. We also went on a field trip to the radio station. Then they played this one song for all of us. It was fun learning about the radio station.
We had a great February!
In March, we will be going to the Herald Journal for our field trip.
