Take A Break: and find some balance

May 24, 2010 by JoLynne Lyon

Here are some suggestions for regaining balance in your life.

This week’s Take A Break thought is about finding ways to boost your physical and mental well-being.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Meditate
  • Use positive self-talk
  • Exercise
  • Eat well-balanced nutritional meals
  • Avoid stimulants (caffeine, nicotine,etc.)
  • Develop a consistent sleep routine
  • Take a nap
  • Spend time with others
  • Set realistic goals for yourself
  • Give yourself permission NOT to be super human.

Or list your own favorite way to find that peaceful place inside yourself. How do you find balance? Leave us a comment.

We’d like to thank Jeanie Peck for these snippets of wisdom. She provides mental health therapy for parents involved with the Up to 3 Early Intervention Program.

Good suggestions, indeed, for health conscious people. Indeed, balanced life is what is required to stay fit and healthy. Without proper mix of work and play, people are prone to get obese and develop hypertension, diabetes etc over a period.

To find balance, one should develop healthy lifestyle and mostly stay away from sedentary life and junk foods. Developing free time activities is the need of the hour for many.
